Dim 18 Déc 2005 : A new ambassador

The night had just fallen when from a large boat left several small boats which leaned in bay of Canterbury. A man, all dressed in red, and which seemed to be the head of the small forwarding, assembled sand a dune and known as:

Which fog!!! The weather remained the same one since my last stay in Sussex .

The lights of the small city lit the dark face of the man in red; it was about Belzébar, celebrity local who returned in Sussex.

While advancing towards the city, Belzébar was addressed to a man who was to be one of his servants:

This village has me the quite peaceful appearence. There make install my people and my apartments.

A horse-drawn stopped in front of the newcomers and the coachman called to high-voice:

Mister the Ambassador, your horse-drawn is ready to leave.

I am neither an old man, neither one of these aristocrats who cannot ride a horse any more ...

Belzébar chooses one of the four horses of fits with body, assembled it and beckoned with three of these men to detach the other horses of the horse-drawn so that they can follow their master.

After a few hours of ride, Belzébar arrived in the town of Hastings, and then went to the castle of the count. He went down from its horse and approached one the two guards which supervised the door:

Go announce me to your Master, I am Belzébar...

While hearing this name, the two guards left their sword the sleeve, the three men of Belzébar made some in the same way.
The man in red started to laughing and smiles to the two guards which firmly held their sword in their hands:

Let‘s see; a little calms Messrs, if I had come to take your castle, I will not have come present to me at you of so beautiful clothes .

Belzébar left its pocket a beautiful embroidered handkerchief of a blazon of a remote county, entrusted it to one guards while advising to him to bring it in hand specific to the count of Sussex.

The guard arranged its sword of a being wary air, brought the handkerchief to its count, then returned to see Belzébar by presenting excuses bitterly to him and by inviting it to return in the castle.

Belzébar ordered to his fellow travellers to keep the horses, then was let guide to the count by one courtesan who left it only in front of the large door of the throne room.

Belzébar buttoned up again its shirt in order to be presentable, then entered the large part while advancing of a trustful step towards the count with whom it made reverence:

My respects; Mister the Count;
I congratulate you for your recent nomination and presents to me with you as Ambassador of Provence. God allow us to establish powerful bonds of friendship between our two countries.

The Sussex Count agreed of a sign of head and in very correct French language invited the new ambassador to dine with the Council.

La nuit venait juste de tomber lorsque d'un gros bateau sortirent plusieurs petites barques qui accostèrent dans la baie de Canterbury. Un homme, tout de rouge vêtu, et qui semblait être le chef de la petite expédition, monta une dune de sable et dit:

Quel brouillard!!! Le temps est resté le même depuis mon dernier séjour en Sussex .

Les lumières de la petite ville éclairèrent la face cachée de l'homme en rouge, il s'agissait de Belzébar, célébrité locale qui faisait son retour en Sussex.

Tout en avançant vers la ville, Belzébar s'adressa à un un homme qui faisait partie de ses serviteurs:

Ce village m'a l'air paisible. Faites-y installer mes gens et mes appartements.

Un carosse s'arrêta devant les nouveaux arrivants et le cocher dit à voix-haute:

Monsieur l'Ambassadeur, votre carosse est prêt à partir.

Je ne suis ni un vieillard, ni un de ces aristocrates qui ne savent plus monter à cheval ...

Belzébar choisit un des quatre chevaux de l'attelage sur lequel il monta, ouis il désigna du doigt trois de ces hommes pour qu'ils détachent les autres chevaux afin qu'ils puissent suivre leur maître.

Après quelques heures à cheval, Belzébar arriva dans la ville d'Hastings, puis devant le château du comte. Il descendit de son cheval et s'approcha d'un des deux gardes qui surveillaient la porte:

Va m'annoncer à ton maître, je suis Belzébar...

En entendant ce nom, les deux gardes sortirent leur épée du fourreau, les trois hommes de Belzébar en firent autant.
L'homme en rouge éclata de rire et sourit aux deux gardes qui tenaient fermement leurs épées dans leurs mains:

Voyons; un peu de calme Messieurs, si j'étais venu pour prendre votre château, je ne me serai pas présenté à vous dans d'aussi beaux vêtements .

Belzébar sortit de sa poche un joli mouchoir brodé représentant un blason fort lointain, le confia à l'un des gardes en lui conseillant de l'apporter en main propre au comte du Sussex.

Le garde rangea son épée d'un air méfiant, apporta le mouchoir à son comte, puis revint voir Belzébar en lui présentant amèrement des excuses et en l'invitant à entrer dans le château.

Belzébar ordonna à ses compagnons de voyage de garder les chevaux, puis se laissa guider au comte par une ravissante courtisanne qui le laissa seul devant la grande porte de la salle du trône.

Belzébar reboutonna sa chemise dans le but d'être plus présentable, puis entra dans la grande salle tout en s'avançant d'un pas décidé vers le comte à qui il fit la révérence:

Mes respects; Monsieur le Comte;
Je tiens à vous féliciter pour votre toute récente nomination et me présente à vous en tant qu'Ambassadeur de Provence. Que Dieu nous permette d'établir de puissants liens d'amitié entre nos deux pays.

Le Comte du Sussex acquiesca d'un signe de tête et dans un français très correct, invita le nouvel ambassadeur à dîner avec le Conseil.
